There is a fiction book called The Shack that is very disturbing to our Christian faith. Why? Mainly because some of our Christian brothers and sisters are touting it as the gospel. It is the symbol of our churches being watered down Christianity! It is at best heretical and at its worst satanic. God is a powerful almighty creator who is to be worshipped loved and respected. God is neither male nor female. This book tries to put God on our level and the creator of the universe can never be the same as His creation! While many say, this book has helped them over the grief of the loss of their precious children. I ask the question; has it really? Just what kind of help is a half-truth? Satan will tell you anything to make you feel good, but his “feel good” is only temporary and not for “our good”. Only God is on our side and those things we do not understand like the loss of a child especially from a horrific senseless death just cannot be easily explained. Brownies are good, but when you put a tad bit of poop in them, they are no longer worth eating! The whole brownie must be thrown away! They have become corrupt. Just like this book it has some truth mixed with many lies. I fear that many people will accept these lies as truth and when they really need those truths in their lives they will not be prepared to withstand what is coming. Their basic beliefs have been corrupted. Below is listed two of those lies spouted in this book with scripture to reveal the truth. More will be coming.

Heresy: “God the Father was crucified with Jesus.” P. 96 “Papa: ‘We were there together.’” Mack: ‘At the cross? Now, wait, I thought you left him – – you know – ‘My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?’ Papa: ‘You misunderstand the mystery there. Regardless of what he felt at that moment, I never left him.’”

Truth: God cannot be in the presences of sin or even look upon it or take part in it.

As Jesus was dying on the cross for our sins. He experienced the agony of the separation from the Father.

“And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” Matt. 27:46

“Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity: wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?” Habakkuk 1:13

“Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.” Isaiah 59:1-3

“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” 2 Corinthians 5:21

Heresy: God is limited by His love and cannot practice judgement. P. 102 “Papa: ‘The God who is – – the I am who I am – – cannot act apart from love!’” P. 118-119 Mack: ‘You seem to be especially fond of a lot of people. Are there any who you are not especially fond of?’ Papa: ‘Nope, I haven’t been able to find any.’”

Truth: The Bible, God’s Holy Word declares that God’s love and judgement are two sides of the same coin.

“For I the LORD love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.” Isaiah 61:8

“And I will betroth thee unto me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies.” Hosea 2:19

“He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.” Psalm 33:5

“But we know that the judgment of God is according to truth against those who practice such things.” Romans 2:2

“Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life” Romans 5:18

“But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.” Luke 11:42

May God reveal and open your eyes to His Truth. God bless.
