Holiness a Forgotten Character of God and Man

“Pursue peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord.” Hebrews 12:14

The King James version says Holiness instead of sanctification in this verse. The Greek word is ἁγιασμός, meaning purification. Most people will say it is impossible to be pure. Really? I disagree. You can’t be pure on your own without the help of the Holy Spirit that is for sure. But if you have been “born again” into the family of God and you are what I refer to as a Christ lover and if you have been filled with the Holy Spirit, living a life subject to our Father in heaven, then you are able to be pure through the power of that same Holy Spirit who filled you. That is not to say you will not have issues with your flesh rising up, but Jesus Christ does the work of purification in us. The only thing we need to do is submit to Him. Our flesh and our spirit will always war with each other.  For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.” Gal 5:17 So in this world even our body is at war with the Spirit! Evil abounds in this world on all levels.

So, what does living a holy (pure) life look like in this world today? We must live in this world, but we must not be a partaker in the evil of this world. “If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.” Gal 5:25 This verse tells us we must be in tune with Jesus at all times. Praying at all times, asking the Lord to direct us in all things. There is nothing we must make a decision about without Jesus being consulted in our decision-making process. Going to the grocery store what should we buy and how much money should we spend to who we should marry.

Taking ourselves out of the evilness of this world means not being a part of anything that does not glorify God. From what movies or TV programs we watch to what kind of music we listen too. It matters greatly to our Father and it corrupts our Spirit to listen or watch things that do not glorify our Father in heaven.

It grieves me to see what is happening to our children and what they are seeing adults do. What is our country going to look like in 20 years from now? I daresay if we last that long it will be so cold and evil you will shudder. Your children are going to be here in those 20 years and I ask you are you preparing them for the evil to come? Are you teaching them that God alone is their real source of power? Are you showing them how to live a holy life so that their eternity is secured? Are you consulting Jesus on how to raise your child in every aspect of their life right now?

As I watched just a small portion of those ungodly, blind women march on Washington this week, it broke my heart to see such evil abound. These women had such an opportunity to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to the world! Instead satan was upheld, some of the most horrible words came out of these women speaker’s mouths! This is not freedom. This is bondage to lies from satan. Women, you want respect? Then give respect to yourself. A woman of holy character will garner much respect.

“Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God.” Lev. 20:7 and Peter he quoted it also by saying: “Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:16

God does not tell us to do something that is impossible for us to do. I challenge you ladies especially to be an example of holiness to your family.  Be a Proverbs 31 woman!

 God Bless

Broken Vessels

“After these things Jesus showed Himself again to the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias, and in this way He showed Himself: Simon Peter, Thomas called the Twin, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two others of His disciples were together. Simon Peter said to them, ‘I am going fishing.’ They said to him, ‘We are going with you also.’ They went out and immediately got into the boat, and that night they caught nothing. But when the morning had now come, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. Then Jesus said to them, ‘Children, have you any food?’ They answered Him, ‘No.’ And He said to them, ‘Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some. So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish. Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, ‘It is the Lord!’ Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment (for he had removed it), and plunged into the sea. But the other disciples came in the little boat (for they were not far from land, but about two hundred cubits), dragging the net with fish. Then, as soon as they had come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid on it, and bread. Jesus said to them, ‘Bring some of the fish which you have just caught.’ Simon Peter went up and dragged the net to land, full of large fish, one hundred and fifty-three; and although there were so many, the net was not broken. Jesus said to them, ‘Come and eat breakfast.’ Yet none of the disciples dared ask Him, ‘Who are You?’—knowing that it was the Lord Jesus then came and took the bread and gave it to them, and likewise the fish. This is now the third time Jesus showed Himself to His disciples after He was raised from the dead. So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, ‘Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?’ He said to Him, ‘Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.’ He said to him, ‘Feed My lambs.’ He said to him again a second time, ‘Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?’ He said to Him, ‘Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.’ He said to him, ‘Tend My sheep.’ He said to him the third time, ‘Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?’ Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, ‘Do you love Me?’ And he said to Him, ‘Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Feed My sheep.’” John 21: 1-17

Let’s look a little at the history here of what happened to bring Peter to the point of being in this boat fishing. This is after Jesus was crucified and Peter denied knowing and following him three times. Peter was very vocal saying he would die for Jesus! “Peter said to Him, ‘Even if I have to die with You, I will not deny You!’ And so said all the disciples.’” Matt. 26:35 But when it came to being able to stand with him Peter left Jesus in a hurry and I am sure he is remembering the words Jesus said to him “Jesus said to him, ‘Assuredly, I say to you that this night, before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.’” Matt. 26:34 That is exactly what happened: “And Peter remembered the words of Jesus who had said to him, ‘Before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.’ So, he went out and wept bitterly.” Matt. 26:75 Bitter tears are violent tears, heartbroken tears of grief and regret. You feel you have lost it all not just some things, you feel you have lost everything. There is nothing left. You failed miserably. Peter I am sure was hearing Jesus’ words you will deny me and Peter’s words not me Lord and then he is going over and over again the last words his beloved Savior heard him speak “I never knew the man!”

After Jesus was crucified Peter went back to the only thing he knew how to do and that was fish because he felt there was nothing left. So Peter went back to his old life, his old way of doing things. But even going back to his old ways was a failure. He was not catching anything. Kind of like us in life when we regress back to our “old ways”. It is not fulfilling, just empty searching for something to fill that void of loss and misery.

When Jesus approaches Peter he address’s him as Simon, Son of Jonas, not as Peter. This indicates to me that Jesus was speaking to Simon who went back fishing for fish.  But things were about to change. This question that Jesus asked Peter “Do you love me?” is the basis of our Christian faith. When we come to the knowledge of who Christ is and what He has done for us on the cross we realize what type of love it was that freed us. You see in the Greek they use different words for love. In this passage John, the writer of this account used two of those love words. When Jesus asks, Peter do you love me, John uses a Greek word “agapaō” meaning an unconditional type of love for one another. Peter’s response is Lord you know I “phileō” you. This Greek word means a brotherly love, not as encompassing as unconditional love. Peter was grieved because he knew he could not return that type of love to Jesus.

In Acts 2 we read the account of the disciples receiving the filling of the Holy Ghost and they spoke in tongues, that is when “agape” the unconditional love for one another was really born in the church body. Without being filled with the spirit none of us can show that type of love for anyone no matter who they are. Now Peter has really been set free! The body of Christ began that day with Peter preaching and three thousand received the truth, was filled with the Holy Ghost and loved each other with “agape”.

You see Peter I am sure felt that all was lost and nothing would be the same again. Nothing was lost and nothing was going to be the same again! What satan tried to destroy, God was working out a purpose beyond what Peter could see. He still does those things today. What you think is lost, could be your gain! He sifts out the ugly parts in us in order to position us where we need to be so that we might be able to be used supernaturally for His glory! When you are broken, don’t think all is lost, think of the gain that is coming.  “For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning” Psalm 30:5

God bless.

Knowing The Will of God Part 2 His Blessings

Some people (myself included) think blessings are just great fortune and happy times. But not quite that simple. I like to look at the Beatitudes in Luke 6: 20-26 “And turning His gaze toward His disciples, He began to say, “Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. Blessed are you who hunger now, for you shall be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh. Blessed are you when men hate you, and ostracize you, and insult you, and scorn your name as evil, for the sake of the Son of Man. Be glad in that day and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven. For in the same way their fathers used to treat the prophets.  But woe to you who are rich, for you are receiving your comfort in full.  Woe to you who are well-fed now, for you shall be hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you shall mourn and weep.  Woe to you when all men speak well of you, for their fathers used to treat the false prophets in the same way.”

You see Blessings from God are those things that should make us “happy”. That is what the word blessings makarios in the Greek means. Being happy is not a permanent state of mind. In this world, there is sin and death. For us Christ lovers we do not fear death, but we do grieve over the temporary separation from our loved ones. We grieve over our own sin and others who sin. So, looking at how Luke has written our blessings we see that to be happy (Blessed) shows that our state of mind has to change. How we look at our circumstances. We as Christ lovers must understand a key strong hold here that satan tries his best to afflict us with, is that he tries to tell us our circumstances will not change! But I am here to tell you that your circumstances will change and does change all the time. That is your circumstances changes all the time for the good and for the bad. If we are honest with ourselves there are “happy” times and “sad” times in our lives.

Have you noticed that in the happy times you will hear from satan “this is too good to be true” and in the sad times you will hear “this is how it always is”. All of them are lies from the father of lies. Luke wrote Blessed are you who hunger NOW for you shall be satisfied. How can you be happy when your belly is grumbling in hunger? By knowing in your heart that God is going to fill your belly because that is a promise he made to all Christ lovers. “Once I was young, and now I am old. Yet I have never seen the godly abandoned or their children begging for bread.” Psalm 37:25 I am living proof of that verse. I have never been abandoned by God and I have never begged for a meal. God has supplied for me every time no matter how much or how little money I had!

We must realize that our circumstance should not determine our state of mind, but should just simply be an opportunity for God to shine! I used to have this boss who would tell us his door was always open to us with any problem as long as we brought a solution with us. Now it may not be a solution he used, but what he was really saying is my door is open to honest communication but I don’t have time for whiney babies and constant complainers. I don’t blame him, he would never get anything done that way. Just so with God, He does not want constant complainers and whiney babies. He wants you rejoicing no matter what the circumstance you find yourself in at that moment. Because we must in all things trust God that He will come through for us and not leave us nor forsake us that is His promise!

“Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, ‘I will never desert you nor will I ever forsake you,’ so that we confidently say, ‘The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What will man do to me?’” Hebrews 13:5,6

So, if we trust in God and not “stuff” like money, cars, houses, food, clothing etc. we have nothing to fear. God is going to come through for us because HE PROMISES TO COME THROUGH FOR US!

So “blessings” from God don’t necessarily mean that all will be what we would call happy times. Because Luke says you are blessed when people revile you and say bad things about you. My flesh doesn’t call that making me happy! But Luke goes on to say there is a greater reward coming later. You see we as Christ lovers have to look beyond our “current” circumstances to that which lies ahead. The reward we will receive in heaven, the crowns we get to lay at Jesus’ feet! That should be what makes us joyful at all times in any and every circumstance!

God bless.

Knowing the Will of God Part 4 Submission

“Slaves, be obedient to those who are our masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in the sincerity of your heart, as to Christ; not by way of eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart. With good will render service, as to the Lord, and not to men, knowing that whatever good thing each one does, this he will receive back from the Lord, whether slave or free. And masters, do the same things to them, and give up threatening, knowing that both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no partiality with Him.” Ephesians 6:5-9

Ok we have been talking about knowing the will of God. This verse talks about doing the will of God. You say but we no longer have slaves and masters. Well let’s look at what a slave and master will look like in the world today.  The Greek word for slave is δοῦλος pronounced dü’-los meaning, a slave, bondman, metaph., one who gives himself up to another’s will those whose service is used by Christ in extending and advancing his cause among men and the definition I most like is: devoted to another to the disregard of one’s own interests. Kind of covers all of it, meaning who you voluntarily submit yourself too; whether that be your boss at work, your spouse, your parents, your principal at school, the police officer, your Pastor, etc. When we start looking at it in that sense there are lots of people that come into our lives that we must submit ourselves too in some form or fashion.

You see submitting to one another goes deeper than just doing what they say to do. Being coldly obedient is not what God is after towards Him or others. It means submitting to each other in God’s kind of love, that “agape” love. Going out doing good works for each other. Doing good works for the Lord means that we submit ourselves to people in this world with a sincere heart doing this submission as if we were doing it to the Lord, (that is what we really are doing) because this glorifies the Lord. There will be times you will be the master and times in this world you will be the slave so to speak. In other words, you will be the one submitted too and the one doing the submitting. It is interchangeable. So, it works both ways, be sincere, kind and gentle with all people no matter what role you play in this as the slave or the master.

Sometimes, when you do good for someone you don’t really want them to know it was you doing it. I know that has always been my “motto” so to speak. Why? Because I don’t want to take the shine, light, or glory off of the Lord in any way. If I did some good deed and people knew about it, I would automatically get the glory that is just human nature. But if no one knew who did it, and I leave the thought with them that Jesus did it, (which He really did, since He is the one that put the desire in me and the ability to do it) then He gets the glory.  How does good works, slaves and masters all go together here? Well, when you do good works, you are submitting yourself to that person in humility of service. Meeting a need that person has with love, so that Christ will be glorified and that person will feel loved by Christ.

You see this time of year it is easy to show love towards others when we sing peace on earth good will towards men. This “good will” this “submission” to each other in the love of Christ should be year-round. This is the will of God for us Christ lovers.

God bless

Are You Easily Offended?

“For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, because the  mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so, and those who are in the flesh cannot please God.” Romans 8:6-8

I had an incident where it felt like every time I was around this person and spoke a word of truth with them they got offended with me. So, I decided to quit speaking the Word with them in order to keep our relationship peaceful. Then my husband spoke a Word of Truth and they got offended. I got to thinking about this and told my husband I was going to just have a “surface” relationship with this person and not get any deeper. If they said something that was unscriptural I would just ignore it and try not to have any deep conversations with them. But I was convicted of that, because as a Christ lover and sister in the faith we are called to encourage each other but also to admonish each other when one of us gets off into a ditch.

“Brethren, even if anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you too will not be tempted.” Galatians 6:1

Yes, we should hold each brother and sister accountable and help them gently, not being hostile, or unloving towards them. Being sure that we have a Word of truth from the Holy Spirit for them showing them in the scriptures that Word of Truth, because that puts the truth right in the middle of the problem. They may not receive it or you very well, but you have done what the Holy Spirit has appointed you to do. Then the hard part comes when they don’t receive it well and they get offended and mad at you, call you names and accuse you of things you did not do. What do you do then? Turn the other cheek and still show them the love of Christ, because what you did for them to begin with was in love; you end in love and keep the love going no matter what! Hard word, believe me, it is a hard word.

You see that last part of that verse, looking to yourself so you too will not be tempted? Part of that means don’t you get offended and then you both go off being offended with each other! I always thought that meant not get tempted by what they are doing wrong. That one is very obvious but not being offended in the same way they are is harder.

The key to this whole thing is you have to be in the spirit not the flesh because walking in the flesh is death to everything, your relationship with God, your relationship with your loved ones, friends and your life! You see there are two sides to this coin. Those who hear a hard word and get offended and those who share the hard word and get offended! I have been on both sides of that coin and neither side is right!

As Christ lovers, we must stay in the spirit easy to love, easy to forgive, easy to make adjustments in our life and acknowledge when we are wrong. We are a work in progress and as long as we acknowledge our faults and failures, learning from them and not keep doing them over and over again, we are growing in Christ. Look at how a baby learns to walk, they crawl, scoot, grab things to pull themselves up, stand and wobble a little until finally they take that first step. Then they walk a little fall down a lot, walk a little until their legs get stronger and stronger and their balance gets better and better until one day they start running! That is the Christian walk in a nut shell so to speak. We do that same thing. But the one thing that will hold a baby back from learning to walk is when they fall down the first time to not try again. Just lay there and say I can’t, it hurt too much momma carry me! Sound familiar? I know Christians that are like that today! Easily offended, still on mama’s milk! Don’t try to give them any meat or even apple sauce they will choke on their offense!

So, beloved one, in the spirit of love, check yourself and see if you resemble any of this. I did and I am being honest I fell short today!

God bless

Knowing the Will of God Part 2 His Healings

“And He said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.” Ex 15:26 This is God speaking to the Israelites after they have just been delivered from pursuit by Pharaoh and his army. It was a promise that God made to the Israelites and showed another part of His character to them that they had not really known much about before.  Yĕhovah rapha’ , the Lord heals.

There was also prophesized, One who was to come to the earth in the form of a man, Jesus Christ in Isaiah 53:5 “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” Same word “rapha’” is used here in this text and means the same exact thing, “healing”. Jesus came to save us from our sins, so that we might live in eternity with Him forever and while on this earth, He came to bring healing. A healing of all types. Whatever type of healing you need. He brought a complete salvation nothing missing nothing broken, a perfect salvation from a perfect Savior! Some people will tell you that you get your healing when you go to heaven, but I tell you no, you get your new body when you go to heaven. Why does some people die then without receiving their healing here on this earth? Because, we live in a fallen sinful place and we are constantly fighting satan and our sinful flesh.  Matt 26:41 says: “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

In order to receive healing, you must do something, just like in order to receive salvation you must do something. The same way you receive salvation is the same way you receive your healing by faith in Christ. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God” So you see you have to have faith that God can and wants to heal you. That it is His character and He cannot lie! He says He is Yĕhovah rapha’ the Lord heals. So, let’s look back at Ex: 15:26 There were four things the Israelites were required to do in order to receive what God had promised to them, their healings. 1. Listen diligently to God’s voice. Keep a watchful ear out for anytime the spirit is speaking to your heart. Be very sensitive to the Holy Spirit. That only happens by being in constant contact with God at all times. 2. Doing what is right in the sight of God. Now the law may say that you have “rights”, but what does God tell your heart to do? The Bible tells us how to turn the other check and to show unconditional love towards each other. You see the key here is doing what is right in the “sight of God” not in the “sight of man”. There is a vast difference. 3. Give ear to His commandments. Well Jesus said to the rich young ruler in Matthew 22: 37-40 “And He said to him, “‘YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.’ This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.’ On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.” A commandment is not a suggestion. We have no wiggle room here. This is just the way it is and there really is no room for discussion. The rich young ruler did not like the answer and asked who was his neighbor. Jesus told the parable of the good Samaritan. Our neighbor is anyone God puts in our pathway to love, period end of story.  4. Keep all His statutes. Now what is statutes? The Hebrew word is choq, it is a prescribed task. Things that God sets forth for us to do specially for Him that He has asked us personally to do for Him or corporately as the body of Christ. One of those is the Lord’s Supper that we are told to do as a body of Christ. The Israelites had been given festivals, feasts to observe in order to honor God and what He did for them. Those were called choq by the Israelites, statues from God.

So, as you see in this passage God does require something from us. He requires us to have faith and believe in Him and believe that He will do what He said He will do! You want healing from something today, whether it be a sickness in your body, mind, spirit or your soul? You have a broken heart over something? Look to God He will heal you and make you whole. If you are a Christ lover, He has already done that work in you through the redemptive work of the cross. You received your salvation through faith and live for Christ, now receive your healing the same exact way.

Knowing the Will of God Part 1 – His Gifts

“So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and he who seeks, finds; and to him who knocks, it will be opened. Now suppose one of you fathers is asked by his son for a fish; he will not give him a snake instead of a fish, will he? Or if he is asked for an egg, he will not give him a scorpion, will he? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?” Luke 11: 9-13

As we learn what the will of God is for us as Christ lovers, this season we think a lot about gifts. God’s gifts are abundant and free. There are many gifts He is willing to give us, His children if we will just believe what the Bible tells us. As Luke tells us if we do our part by asking (Praying) seeking (Worshipping) knocking (perseverance, not giving up) He will give us His good and perfect gift, the Holy Spirit.

Luke 6:38 “Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure – pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.”  Ok this could be good or bad depending on how you give to others. How do you show love, or are you judgmental?  You notice this gift is given by YOUR standard of measure. That means how you treat others is going to come back to you. If you are generous, giving, forgiving, and loving then God will be generous, giving, forgiving with you.

1 Peter 4:10 “As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” These gifts that God gives us is yes, to give us pleasure because He loves us and is a good Father, but it is also so that we might bless others and show His love to the world. That is the point of the gifts for us, to be good stewards of all that God has given us, so we can share what He has gifted to us with others.

“God’s various gifts are handed out everywhere; but they all originate in God’s Spirit. God’s various ministries are carried out everywhere; but they all originate in God’s Spirit. God’s various expressions of power are in action everywhere; but God himself is behind it all. Each person is given something to do that shows who God is: Everyone gets in on it, everyone benefits. All kinds of things are handed out by the Spirit, and to all kinds of people! The variety is wonderful: wise counsel, clear understanding, simple trust, healing the sick, miraculous acts, proclamation, distinguishing between spirits, tongues, interpretation of tongues. All these gifts have a common origin, but are handed out one by one by the one Spirit of God. He decides who gets what, and when.” 1 Corinthians 12: 4-11

We have already determined that the Bible has told us the Holy Spirit which is a part of Jesus and God is a gift from Jesus to us. Along with the gift of the Holy Spirit comes gifts through the Holy Spirit and they are listed here in 1 Corinthians 12. They can be given to us occasionally as the Spirit wills, or we can have them forever as a permanent gift. We can have them all at different times or just one at a time. It just depends totally on what God needs us to do for Him at that time. All these gifts are to the glory of God. You as a Christ lover should study these gifts each one in detail so you can be ready to use them when the time comes and know how they work. That is our responsibility as believers in the body, to understand how these precious gifts God has bestowed upon us all through the Holy Spirit operate.

“Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all. But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift.” Eph 4:1-7

The greatest gift of all Christ, who gave Himself to us through His Father’s request of Him! Wow how special are we that God loved us so much, that He sent His love, His only Son, Himself in the flesh. To pay for our sins, so that we would not have too. God made us special not by us doing anything at all, for we were born into sin and we were headed to die into sin, but God had a plan!

So, when you think about gifts this season, think about all the gifts you have already been given through God who first gave His Son and then read through the Bible and find all the gifts that God has promised you His child. Receive those gifts today.

God bless

Trusting God That Every God-Direction is Road Tested

“Suddenly, God, your light floods my path, God drives out the darkness. I smash the bands of marauders,
I vault the high fences. What a God! His road stretches straight and smooth. Every God-direction is road-tested. Everyone who runs toward him makes it.” 2 Samuel 29-31 The Message

My husband and I have really been going through some hard times. It is amazing how God can really use the most unlikely souls to speak His truth and word. I had a sweet sister at our church for no reason just God put on her heart to buy a book to give to me. Boy that book came at just the right time and changed my attitude about things. Stopped me feeling sorry for myself. What a blessing! It opened the door for God to really speak to me about trust. It started me questioning myself do I really trust God?

You see I have always been one to want to control things myself. I am happiest when I am in control. That is a very sad commentary on a Christ lover’s life, because if you could sum up the Bible in just a few words, I think it would be: Trust in Me, I love you.  Trust is such a small word with big implications. We are living and believing lies from satan when we think we have anything under control. God created this world and us for His pleasure, he is the one who makes it turn around on its axle, He makes the tide go in and out, He makes the moon come out and the sun to shine. So if he controls nature why would we not think He controls everything? It says so in the Bible. “Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.” Romans 8:28

God is interested in every detail of our lives! Wow does that not give you hope! It sure does to me. I know now that I can say I trust you God with every detail of my life. I give you my concerns today and You give me the best You have for me. That is what I want Your Best not mine. When I was able to say this the peace that washed over me was incredible. I have no worries. I am blessed beyond what I can think because my God is giving me His best. I trust that in the name of Jesus. I urge you my fellow Christ lovers to do the same.

God bless

God is good all the time and all the time God is good!

“Whatever is good and perfect comes down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow. He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession. Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.” James 1: 17-19

God said we are his prized possession! Wow he loves us so much! My prayer for all of us is that we all get a hold of that truth today! You see we are all His whether we acknowledge it or not meaning that we were all created by Him for His pleasure. Those that accept Him and love Him back will enjoy a forever home with Him, those who reject Him will not. Simple as that. But those that reject Him causes Him pain, because He is not about retribution He is about redemption. That is why He sent His Son to die on that cross for everyone. He does not look at the color of your skin, or your body type, or your capacity of learning. He looks at your heart to see who and how you love! He is looking to see if you love Him!

During this time of the year we all like to start thinking of things to be thankful for. This is a great time for us to try to mend some fences. Turn the other check and forgive each other. Walk in love and show compassion to each other. There has been a lot of angry hateful words said lately over this election, on both sides. Unkind things said of each other. Let us take this opportunity to make amends and try to find some common ground. I think the biggest common ground we have is that we all care what happens to our country.

Since we are all Gods prized possession let us show that to someone. I challenge you to make someone who has spouted hateful words to you, or treated you badly to make them feel like a prized possession of God. Be good to them, turn the other cheek and show them some love. Pray for them with compassion. Give them something they need. Maybe it is just acknowledgement of their feelings. Does not mean you agree with them but means you care about them. Show you care. If you are not sure how to do this ask God He knows how to give those “perfect” gifts. He is the expert.

“And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.” 1 John 4:16

So, if God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit dwells in you, show it today by loving those that have not shown you any love! That is what Jesus did for you on the cross.

God bless

The Final Words

“Let the one who does wrong, still do wrong; and the one who is filthy, still be filthy; and let the one who is righteous, still practice righteousness; and the one who is holy, still keep himself holy. ‘Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.’ Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs and the sorcerers and the immoral persons and the murderers and the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices lying. ‘I Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star. The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost.” Rev. 22: 11-17

I hear a lot of Pastors, Teachers and just regular folks say we are living in the “last” days. If you are a born-again Christ loving Bible reading child of the most high God, you will know what I am talking about when I refer to the “last” days. Those days right before our Savior Jesus Christ returns like he has promised to do and bring his reward to those of us that have been faithful to Him on this earth. Being saved according to the scripture here costs nothing, you just come to Jesus with all of “you” laid at His feet. Surrender yourself, acknowledge that He is Jesus the Christ your savior, believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and He will accept you. You confess it with your mouth and you will be saved. You have nothing else you need to do to be accepted into the beloved. But, (this is one very big but) after you are accepted there is work to be done my friend it does not stop there. Your new life has just begun. You are a new believer in training. Some exciting times and some hard times. Learning a lot of things and heartache over others who reject you because of your choices.  The blessings oh my that is what keeps us going, oh such peace and blessings from the Lord and knowing that there is so much more to come! The reward that Jesus is bringing with Him! Wow! I can hardly wait.

Those who chose to reject Jesus I pray for everyday that their eyes will be opened before it is too late. You see satan lies and he is the father of lies. In Ezekiel 28:14,15 “You were the anointed cherub who covers I established you; you were on the holy mountain of God; you walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones. You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created till iniquity was found in you.” You see the word anointed is the Hebrew “mimshach” meaning like a covering of outspread wings. When satan was the angel who was over the worship in heaven, God established that anointing over him and when he forsook God his anointing was corrupted and he now uses that anointing to corrupt the truth in order to create confusion in people. Now days you hear someone especially in the media and you don’t know what is the truth. Why? Because satan is the prince of the air! We must be very vigilant to make sure we hold ourselves to the plumb line of total pure truth every day and be accountable to each other our brothers and sisters in Christ in this. It is critical that satan does not get a foot hold in our lives in this way.

How do we reach those that have been covered by satan and do not see Christ and the truth? Well first you must pray. Pray that Jesus will lead you to the right moment, the right person, and the right words. We call it the “Rhema” word. That “living” word directly from the Holy Spirit that will smash the strong hold that satan has built in that person’s life. It is a scripture that may not make sense to you why that one particular one, but to that person will mean everything. Believe me it works, maybe not immediately, just depends on how strong a hold satan has on a person. But it will work! God is a mighty God and He wins every time.

So, don’t be afraid in these “final days” dear saint of God! Go forth and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ! That good news of things to come for those who are willing to believe.  God has the final say.

God bless.
