“Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:” Isaiah 29:13
What are you learning and who are you learning it from? Be very careful who you listen to these days. Jesus said, in Mark 4:24, “Take heed what you hear.” Times are getting short and there are false prophets, and heretics abounding. It really is nothing new as we see in Isaiah 29:13, and the Lord Himself quoted that same scripture while He walked the earth: “But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” Matt. 15:9 Satan is wanting to water down our beliefs because if He can get us to not make a stand for Christ and just let people believe what they want to, then he has won. We must be diligent in knowing what the scriptures say: knowing how Jesus requires us to live on this earth is critical to our living a victorious life in Christ. You must abide in Christ and He in you. “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.” John 15:4 There is no successful Christ follower except one who walks as Jesus walks, talks as Jesus talks and shines the light on the truth as Jesus did. Jesus was not a soft, squishy, scared man. He was powerful, spoke with authority, and when it was appropriate He ran the money changers out of the temple with a whip. When it was appropriate He showed love and kindness to the little children, He showed great mercy, patience, and He turned the other cheek. But He always spoke the truth and expects us to do the same. Jesus tells us to walk in love, yes but that does not mean to be accepting of their sin. Love means to tell them the truth of their sin so they will not go to hell. Love means to be kind to everyone, turn the other cheek, but to take the whip to the money changers in the temple when the Holy Spirit says to.
I urge you brothers and sisters in the faith, to study your bibles for yourself: not leaning on man’s traditions, but leaning on God’s word. God bless.
